While most other Dutch law enforcement communities in Germany frown on the quality of police training in the city, Bergen’s population of approximately 30,000 has a great deal of experience and expertise that makes it truly an ideal place to live in a less dense, more developed neighborhood. In 2005-2006, Andersen-Van Ormanen also headed a strategy of developing a new law enforcement training program in Amsterdam. While the project was led by Andersen-Van Ormanen, that program was also led by another renowned Dutch law school, Sabine Academy. Andersen-Van Ormanen spent a career at Sabine, which specialized in anti-terrorism training, prior to entering mainstream immigration law enforcement and its related field work in Belgium, and, more recently, being involved with crime law in the Middle East. Andersen-Van Ormanen initiated the new program first in an international agreement before moving to a private program at the Bergen School for Business in 2007. In January 2012, Andersen-Van Ormanen was hired to oversee a new program that included a two-month intensive program in which her former colleague and Danish law professor had been tasked to create an international curriculum on crime law in the Netherlands. Andersen-Van Ormanen, along with two other highly trained prosecutors from Sabine Academy, ran the initiative during Andersen-Van Ormanen’s four-day intensive training program in the Netherlands. An annual round-the-world training module was developed in order to recruit about 200 new members to the program, and it will be followed by two lectures and two workshops on crime law and terrorism (one on terrorism and the other on security and terrorism).
